Our newsroom

About DailyDrive

We publish Singapore's weekday morning briefing — a tight file of politics, markets, and city news you can finish before the train arrives.

What we do

DailyDrive Media Pte. Ltd. is an independent digital newsroom incorporated in Singapore. We are not affiliated with any political party, government agency, or automotive brand — the name refers to the daily rhythm of reading the news that shapes your day, not to cars or motivational content.

Each weekday before 6:30 a.m., our editors publish a curated briefing: five to seven verified stories, one explainer, and a policy watch list. We prioritise primary sources — gazettes, exchange filings, court lists, and on-the-record interviews — over aggregated wire copy.

Our voice is brisk and direct, like a morning editor handing you the front page before you leave the flat. We explain policy in plain English, show our working on figures, and correct errors publicly with timestamps.

Editorial standards

We do not publish sponsored content disguised as news. We label opinion clearly when it appears. We do not pay sources. When we rely on a single anonymous source — rare on this desk — we say why anonymity is necessary and what corroboration we sought.

Our corrections policy is public: errors are amended at the top of the affected article with a timestamp in Singapore time, and material corrections are flagged on the Latest page. We respond to correction requests within two business days.

Who reads us

DailyDrive readers are commuters, policy staff, small-business owners, and curious residents who want Singapore news without the noise. They open us on the MRT, at the office pantry, and occasionally on Sunday when a weekday story develops further. We write for people who need to know what changed — not for engagement metrics or viral outrage.

Our name

DailyDrive is sometimes mistaken for a car publication or a motivational brand. It is neither. The name captures the daily rhythm of reading the news that drives your day — Parliament, markets, neighbourhood decisions — in the minutes before you leave home. If that sounds like what you need, we are probably writing for you.

Founded in Singapore

We incorporated in 2026 with a single product: a weekday morning briefing for residents who want verified Singapore news without wading through algorithmic feeds. Our newsroom is small by design — six editors, two researchers, one audio producer — which keeps the file tight and the voice consistent. We are based in Tanjong Pagar because that is where our readers work: lawyers, policy officers, founders, and teachers who need the day's context before their first meeting.

We welcome story tips from the public. We do not run a citizen-journalism programme, but verified documents and on-the-record sources have led to some of our strongest explainers — including today's housing bill coverage.
